Food for Thought (unless you don't like food)

I want to take a moment to share a few good thoughts with you. Please don't take offense at my thoughts I am just hoping to brighten your day. Unless you don't like that, then maybe it will do something for you that you do like.

I was watching the stars last night and thought to myself, "Boy, stars are so twinkley."

I find the use of the term "boy" to be sexist. Why not "girl," or some gender-neutral interjection? Perhaps it would be best to avoid interjections completely. They are too much like exclamation points, a problem you have already wisely addressed.

P.S. You are right, stars are twinkley, but not too twinkley. They are just twinkley enough.

i feel the same way about sunsets. pink and orange and warm, just right. but of course, i don't want to exclude folks who like the middle of the day, or rainy days. rainy days are nice too. i don't think anyone should use the term "boy' or "girl' either. too much like cussing. by the way david, could you change your picture? you don't look happy.

by the way, i come to Good Thoughts daily to get a positive lift to start my day. Sometimes I go to Pyromaniac, but then have to run, run, run to Good Thoughts to offset the ickly feeling I get cuz phil johnson can be so mean sometimes.

Were the stars objectively twinkly, or were they just twinkly to you because of where you were standing? They could've been glittery, or sparkley, all depending on your personal preference of adjectives. You shouldn't impose your adjectives on others. That would be wrong. Although saying you are wrong is not very tolerant of me. You should be allowed to express yourself with any adjective you prefer, one is not better than another, just different. Actually can I even use the word "should"? that might mean I'm trying impose my opinion on .....

tony have you thought of using "I" statements. that way one does not feel defensive. an example might be, "I find stars to be glittery or sparkly. I'm glad you shared that you find stars twinkly. twinkly is another good adjective, but not one i prefer." do you see how that works tony? much nicer.

Candy, I'm very sorry my picture upsets you. I searched through all my pictures, and it's the best I have. My wife says I never looked better.

david, perhaps you ARE smiling. i am not sure. i am sure you are probably smiling on the inside, cuz you would'nt come to this blog if you didn't want to be happy. i'm sure your wife tells you nice things cuz she loves you for who you are, not how you look. she is probably happy that you still have hair on your head. besides your eyes are twinkly, just like stars.

Scott, funny you should mention that, cause when I posed for that photo, I was in a glass box with one of those expensive air purifiers.
